Persian Gulf Star Oil Company was registered in 2006 with the aim of designing, managing, financing, constructing, operating, repairing and maintaining a gas condensate refinery. This refinery is the most modern refinery in the Middle East and is located on a 730-hectare site 25 kilometers west of Bandar Abbas. The feedstock for Persian Gulf Star is supplied by a 388-kilometer, 36-inch pipeline with a capacity of 840,000 barrels per day. This pipeline passes through a difficult terrain, crossing the provinces of Bushehr, Fars and Hormozgan. Persian Gulf Star Super Refinery was created to preserve and continue gas extraction operations from the South Pars joint field, reduce environmental pollutants and ensure the country's self-sufficiency in the supply of strategic energy products such as gasoline and gasoil. It produces products such as LPG, hydrogen, sulfur and various solvents. After the inauguration of the third phase of the Persian Gulf Star Refinery and the stabilization of gasoline production, the capacity increase process began. The refinery's gasoline production capacity increased to 43 million liters per day with Euro 5 standard, which accounts for a major share of the country's gasoline supply. With the implementation of the refinery's capacity increase plan, we are now witnessing an increase of more than 90,000 barrels in feedstock injection from 360 to 454 thousand barrels of gas condensate. This will play a key role in supplying feedstock to the country's petrochemical plants. As the world's largest gas condensate refinery, Persian Gulf Star now plays a strategic role in the energy balance of the country and the region. It has turned Iran from an importer of gasoline into an exporter of this strategic product.
