Abadan petrochemical company is the first producer of polyvinyl chloride (P.V.C) in Iran. it was established in 1969 in Abadan city in the southern west of Iran. The capacity was 20000 MTPY of PVC, 10000 MTPY of DDB, and 24000 MTPY of caustic - soda, In 1975 the company was expanded to increase pvc production to 6000 MTPY. The complex was destroyed during the 8 years Iran - Iraq war in 1980 - 1988. However, it was reconstructed after the end of the war and PVC production was Achieved. the highest record of 598200 tons in the Iranian year 1384 (march 2005 - march 2006), The company is now planning to revamp all production to 12000 MTPY.The first phase of the revamp project i.c. installation of a new PVC plant completed in 2008.
